Long before breweries were popping up all over Connecticut, Willimantic Brewing Company was one of the first brewpubs in the state. After graduating from college and spending a few years in the workforce, owner and brewmaster David Wollner opened Main Street Café in a historic building in downtown Willimantic. A few locations later, Wollner moved to the Willimantic Post Office built in 1909 and started brewing beer. Hundreds of brews later, “WilliBrew” is an eastern Connecticut staple.
